Real Bedford are aiming to make their stay in Step 3 a short one as they head to Spalding United on Monday in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central Play-Off Final.
Having come up as Champions of Division One Central last term, they have adapted well to the demands of the higher level to secure a third place berth.
A 3-1 victory over Kettering Town on Wednesday has set up a trip to second-placed Spading, who finished four points above them.
“We’re all buzzing for Monday’s game,” said Jack Davies. “It was an outstanding performance in the semi-final; we came out of the blocks with such energy and got ourselves an early goal, which gave us something to hold on to and build from.
“We knew what Kettering were going to be about and we had to ride out a bit of pressure from them but we defended so well.
“Being solid at the back gives us the foundation for us to be able to play our football and for the creative and attack-minded players to go on and do their thing.
“Also having our fans behind us is such an important factor. They make our lives so much easier; hearing them cheer every tackle, pass and goal means a lot to us and we need them with us every step of the way on Monday in what will be a tough test for us, but one that we are looking forward to with relish.”
