KETTERING TOWN | THE RIGHT INGREDIENTS

Premier Central club hungry for form to continue

Kettering Town are starting to build up a head of steam.

Saturday’s 3-1 triumph at Needham Market was their second Pitching In Southern League Premier Central victory in a row having previously won 2-0 at Bishop’s Stortford.

Playing his part with a couple of solid displays and an assist in the last game is Ben Isaacson. The talented defender joined the club just before Christmas from Bedford Town and has settled into his new surroundings well.

“I am absolutely loving it at Kettering,” he told us. “This is such a good club and the fans are amazing; there’s a bright future here and I am happy to be part of it.

“We were superb at Needham Market at the weekend. Defensively we were really solid and then in the final third we were clinical, so all of the ingredients needed to be successful.

“I was happy with my own performance and I was glad that I was able to make a contribution to help us get three big points over the line against one of the teams that we are looking to chase down.

“This League is so competitive and it’s shaping up to be an exciting run-in. The fact that everyone is more than capable of beating each other is what makes it so special.

“Things are so tight and fortunes can change quickly; you have to perform every game otherwise you will get found out.

“We are doing all we can to finish the season strongly and if we can, who knows where it will take us? There are a number of clubs still fighting for a place in the top five and there will be many twists and turns along the way between now and the end of the season.

“Personally, my focus is on helping us keep clean sheets and weigh in with the odd assist here and there, as I did in the last game.

“It’s going to be an exciting run-in, that’s for sure! This Saturday we will hopefully get back into home action for the first time since before Christmas. We will face another opponent who sit above us in Redditch United, so it’s going to be another test that we are looking forward to.”
