There were blue skies and sunshine as we witnessed some sparkling action on Saturday.
In the Premier South, leaders, Walton & Hersham, had to be patient as they grabbed a late winner at bottom club, Tiverton Town. Behind them, Farnham Town had to come from behind to draw 1-1 at home to Basingstoke Town, whilst Gloucester City let a two-goal home lead slip to lose 3-2 to Uxbridge.
There was also defeat for Poole Town as Brad Tarbuck’s goal proved to be the difference for Gosport Borough. Back into fifth place are Chertsey Town who ran out 3-0 winners against Wimborne Town as Sholing were held to a 1-1 draw at Hungerford Town.
Over in the Premier Central, Harborough Town sit pretty at the top as they won 2-0 at Alvechurch, thanks to two second half strikes. Spalding United had to settle for a draw at 1-1 as Jack Roberts’ leveller on 56 minutes cancelled out a first half opener for the hosts.
In third place, Real Bedford beat Stamford AFC 3-0, whilst Halesowen Town sit fourth after they beat Bury Town 3-1, which included a brace from Jason Cowley. Clinging on to the final play-off place are Quorn despite their 3-1 loss at Kettering Town.
Division One South sees Frome Town showing no signs of relenting as they won 2-0 at Mousehole AFC thanks to two quick-fire second half strikes. Second-placed Malvern Town went to fellow play-off hopefuls and won 4-2, which included a brace from Harry Clark. They remain a point ahead of Portishead Town who had a good 2-0 away triumph at Westbury United.
Winchester City snatched a late equaliser to draw 2-2 at Sporting Club Inkberrow, who had gone ahead with just a couple of minutes to go. Despite their defeat, Shaftesbury hold the last play-off place, a couple of points ahead of Bishops Cleeve, who won 3-0 at Tavistock AFC.
Into Division One Central and leaders, Leighton Town, lost for only the third time this season as they succumbed at Enfield. Behind them, Hitchin Town beat Aylesbury United 3-1, whilst in-form Biggleswade Town lost by the scoreline at Ware.
There were no such problems for Hertford Town who won 4-0 at Beaconsfield Town and Biggleswade FC as they chalked by an 8-0 victory over bottom club, AFC Dunstable. Both clubs are level on 68 points, with Thame United a point adrift of them after a goal in each half saw them dispose of Rayners Lane.
